Goalkeeper commits to four-year deal at Hannover

Hannover have signed a new contract with former Manchester United Academy graduate Ron-Robert Zieler. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has agreed a new deal until June 2015 at awd-Arena having previously entered the final 12 months of his old terms. Zieler, who was at United from 2005 to 2010, had reportedly been chased by several clubs, including Schalke. But he told Hannover's official website: "We are going to feature in the Bundesliga and the Europa League in this new season, although there are severe challenges ahead of the club. "I am sure I will be able to progress well at Hannover and I am happy to have signed a new deal." Hannover general manager Jorg Schmadtke said: "Ron-Robert Zieler has gone through massive progress in the most recent season. "The new contract agreed now is a sign of how we appreciate this. We had good talks. Ron-Robert is a young goalkeeper with extraordinary talents."
