Germans hopeful of signing Dane

Hannover are closing in on the signing of Fulham midfielder Leon Andreasen. Andreasen, who joined the club in January last year from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, has struggled to establish himself in Roy Hodgson's plans this season. Hannover have been leading the chase for the Danish international and the player's agent Ivan Marko Benes is confident a deal will be struck with the German side. "The clubs are negotiating about an eventual transfer," Benes told Onside.dk. "I am expecting a decision within 24 hours, but the most important is that Leon moves before the transfer window closes. "To me, it looks like a good choice for Leon. There are good chances of playing time and the coach has followed Leon for many years."

Ambition

Hannover boss Dieter Hecking admits to being a staunch admirer of Andreasen, but has refuted suggestions that the club have set Fulham a deadline for an agreement to be reached. "There is no deadline," he said. "I have read that he is our priority, our big ambition. "That is not the phrase I would use, but he is just the sort of player we are lacking. "He is versatile and is still young as well."
