Andersson seals Hannover move

Hannover 96 have completed the signing of Swedish defender Christoffer Andersson.

Hannover 96 have completed the signing of Swedish international Christoffer Andersson.

The 27-year-old defender put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the weekend and will join the Bundesliga outfit from Norwegian side Lillestrom SK at the end of the season after the two clubs agreed on a transfer fee.

"Christoffer is on a Bosman and had a strong desire to move to Europe," Lillestrom boss Jan Age Fjortoft told Nettavisen.

"It is our duty as the club to get as much as possible."

The pending arrival of Andersson could pave the way for Germany defender Per Mertesacker to leave Hannover in the summer.

Media reports have continually linked the highly-rated youngster with a move to Werder Bremen.
