Kaiserslautern landed their first points of the new season in fine style with a 3-2 success at Hansa Rostock.

The Red Devils had lost of their opening three games of the new campaign, but they showed none of that form as they romped home at The Ostsee Stadion.

A two-minute burst just before the interval was the turning point of the match as Thomas Drescher (42) and Thomas Riedl (44) scored.

On the hour mark Turkish starlet Halil Altintop helped himself to Kaiserslautern's third and the game was over as a contest.

Former Aston Villa striker Marcus Allback struck on 71 minutes and again just a minute from time, but it was no more than a consolation for Hansa - who could have gone third with a good win.

At The Niedersachsen Stadion, Hannover threw away a two-goal lead as Freiburg maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Hannover looked well on course for the first victory of the new campaign when Czech Jiri Stajner (pictured) grabbed two goals in the opening eight minutes.

The 96ers could not hold on though, as Regis Dorn (59) and Ellery Cairo (73) both grabbed second half goals.
