Bayern battered as Wolfsburg go top

Wolfsburg produced a stunning performance to go to the top of the Bundesliga as they thumped Bayern Munich 5-1. Prior to Saturday's games Hertha Berlin had sat at the summit but they had a real off day in the capital in going down 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund. Wolfsburg's front pair Edin Dzeko and Grafite played at the peak of their powers as they both notched a brace, while Christian Gentner was also on target for the rampant home side. Luca Toni's goal for Bayern, which briefly levelled matters on the stroke of half-time, provided scant consolation. Hertha were not at the races at home to Dortmund as Alexander Frei (25), Sebastian Kehl (63) and Nelson Valdez (82) did the damage on a fine away day. Berlin briefly levelled matters when Raffael dispatched in the 54th minute. Jonathan Pitroipa scored the game's only goal as Hamburg beat Hoffenheim 1-0. Stuttgart came from behind to beat Bochum 2-1 on their travels. The home side took the lead through Joel Epallie, before Stuttgart hit back courtesy of Cacau and Serdar Tasci. Eintracht Frankfurt were winners at home to Cottbus as goals from Markus Steinhofer and Mikos Liberopoulos secured a rousing comeback after they'd fallen behind to Dimitar Rangelov's opener.
