Hoffenheim's unexpected title tilt shows no sign of fading as they returned to the top of the Bundesliga

Hamburg replaced at the top as Hoffenheim return to summit

Hoffenheim's unexpected title tilt shows no sign of fading as they returned to the top of the Bundesliga, while Stuttgart, Hertha Berlin and Hannover all picked up wins. Top flight new boys Hoffenheim replace Hamburg at the summit courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 victory over Energie Cottbus. Demba Ba's 28th minute opener put Hoffenheim into the lead and it was a lead they would not surrender as Boubacar Sanogo doubled their advantage in the second half. Marko Pantelic was a man on form for Hertha Berlin as his double secured a maximum capital haul against Eintracht Frankfurt. The striker struck in the 17th and 50th minute, while Eintracht's Benjamin Kohler scored what proved to be nothing more than a consolation for his side. Borussia Monchengladbach defender Ruel Brouwers endured an afternoon to forget as his own goal, just past the hour mark, helped secure Stuttgart a 2-0 win at home. Brouwers put through his own goal in the 63rd minute before in the final stages Mario Gomez etched his name on the scoresheet. Hannover moved further clear of the drop zone with a 1-0 win over Schalke, which was secured by Sergio Pinto's seventh minute effort. Borussia Dortmund and Leverkusen could not be separated as they shared a 1-1 draw. Alexander Frei gave Dortmund a lead in the first half but after the interval parity was restored by Patrick Helmes' strike. The same scoreline ensued between Cologne and Wolfsburg as Sergiu Radu's goal for the former was cancelled out by Grafite's 73rd minute leveller.
