Energie Cottbus surprised Borussia Dortmund 3-2, while Alemannia Aachen claimed a 2-1 victory over Mainz.

Vlad Munteanu fired Cottbus ahead after six minutes at Dortmund, before Alexander Frei drew the home side level three minutes before half-time.

Munteanu struck again after 56 minutes to restore Cottbus' advantage and Shao Jiayi (66) made it 3-1, before Frei scored his second of the game for Dortmund four minutes from time.

The result leaves Cottbus in 11th in the Bundesliga, just one place below Dortmund.

Aachen fell behind to Mainz when Mohamed Zidan netted in the 14th minute.

But Jan Schlaudraff (pictured) equalised in the opening minute of the second half and Vedad Ibisevic struck the winner two minutes later.
