Michael Skibbe has confirmed that he is to become Hertha Berlin's new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Hertha parted company with Marcus Babbel on Sunday after a row developed over his announcement not to extend his contract beyond the summer.
Skibbe has now been appointed and will leave his role with Turkish club Eskisehirspor in the New Year to join the Bundesliga side.
"Yes, it is true," Skibbe told Bild as well as Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
"I have a contract starting in January 2012 and that keeps going until June 2014. My first day of work at Hertha Berlin is 3rd January.
"I am loving Turkey and I like the people of Eskisehir. We have achieved a lot with little funds, but I am at home in the Bundesliga."
Hertha are currently 11th in the German standings and just four points above the relegation zone, having failed to win in their last six matches.
