Hertha Berlin's general manager Dieter Hoeness fears that in-demand midfielder Yildiray Basturk might leave the club in the summer on a free transfer.

The Turkish international is still mulling over whether or not he is going to accept Hertha's offer to extend his expiring contract, while the German press has linked him with a handful of clubs including Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund.

Hoeness is afraid that the former Bochum and Bayer Leverkusen man could be tempted to leave Hertha for a team which would offer him the chance to play UEFA Champions League football.

‚Ç£I know that Basturk is wanted by several teams and all doors remain open for him, but with each day he is not committing himself to Hertha our chances get smaller and smaller,‚Ç¥ the general manager told local paper BZ.

Basturk, who is currently sidelined with a thigh problem, has recently fuelled rumours by hinting that he is tempted to continue his career abroad, with Turkey and England believed to be his favourite destinations.
