Hertha Berlin will have to continue their fight against relegation without Belgian international captain Bart Goor over the coming six weeks.

The experienced midfielder was injured in a training ground clash with team-mate Pal Dardai on Wednesday and an examination by club doctors has diagnosed a broken fibula.

Goor will now be out of action for between four and six weeks.

The news comes as a further blow to new Hertha coach Hans Meyer who watched his team fall to the bottom of the Bundesliga table on Saturday after losing 4-0 at Werder Bremen.

One piece of good news for Hertha is that captain Dick van Burik's foot injury, that led to him hobbling off at the Weserstadion, is healing quicker than expected.

The Dutchman could well be fit in time for Sunday's crucial clash with high-flying Stuttgart at the Olympiastadion.
