Nurnberg have been handed a boost with the news defender Javier Pinola has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The 30-year-old former Argentina international joined the Bundesliga outfit back in 2005 and is a fans' favourite.
Following months of contract negotiations, Pinola, who considered making a move back to Argentina with his former side Racing Club, has finally put pen to paper.
He told kicker-Sportmagazin: "Nurnberg is already like a second home for me. I will definitely continue to give my very best for the team and the club."
Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader added: "We always said he is an important player and is an integral part of our future plans.
"After eight years with our club, he absolutely represents the club and the squad."
