Austrian feels at home at Hannover
Hannover defender Emanuel Pogatetz expects to sign a new contract before the end of February.
The Austrian in 2010 joined Hannover from Middlesbrough, and has reportedly been offered a three-year extension to his existing deal, which runs through to next year.
Hannover sporting director Jorg Schmadtke told Bild: "We are in talks. It could happen very quickly."
Pogatetz said: "We are very far along. It's only down to details now. I think that I can sign in the next week or two.
"I feel at home here. I enjoy myself, we have a good team spirit."
