Striker Ivan Saenko has signed a new contract with Bundesliga outfit FC Nurnberg.
The former Russian Under-21 international has put pen-to-paper on a new deal that commits the star to the Frankenstadion outfit until 2010.
Saenko, who was initially tied to Hans Meyer's team until 2008, ended speculation that he will leave the nine-time German champions after being linked with a move to both Stuttgart and Mainz.
The 23-year-old former Karlsruher star was responsible for numerous assists last season while he also found the net eight times during his 25 games.
His decision to commit to Nurnberg is a boost for the club who lost fellow striker Josh Kennedy to a serious injury on Thursday.
