Czech Republic international Tomas Galasek has signed a two-year deal to join Bundesliga side Nurnberg.
The 33-year-old midfield engine has moved to Germany, after rejecting a contract extension at Ajax earlier in the season.
He had been linked with a move to several English clubs, including Aston Villa, but only received concrete offers from German clubs.
He wanted be certain of his future before heading to the World Cup with the national side, and so opted to move to the Franken Stadion on a Bosman free transfer.
After six years at the Amsterdam ArenA, Galasek left the club in a disappointing fourth place in the Dutch Eredivisie this season, 24 points behind champions PSV Eindhoven.
Galasek can now fully focus on helping the Czechs in the World Cup, beginning with their first game in Group E against USA on June 12.
