Nurnberg will be without the services of Raphael Schafer for the rest of the season.Bundesliga outfit Nurnberg will be without the services of first-choice goalkeeper Raphael Schafer for the next two months.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper injured his knee after a collision with a team-mate in training on Tuesday.
A subsequent examination by club doctors revealed torn ligaments which will now keep him on the sidelines for around eight weeks.
Schafer will be replaced by former Rostock keeper Daniel Klewer, who has yet to start a match for Nurnberg since moving to the Frankenstadion last season.
The news comes as a bitter blow to coach Wolfgang Wolf (pictured) who has seen his side fade badly after a good start to the season.
The Bavarian club currently lie 13th in the German top flight after Saturday's home defeat to Kaiserslautern.
