Bayer Leverkusen are expecting to hold more discussions with returning Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho regarding transfer target Andre Schurrle on Wednesday evening.
Reports suggest Schurrle's drawn-out £20million move to Stamford Bridge is close to completion and the only sticking point is a part-exchange for Kevin De Bruyne.
Mourinho is therefore likely to talk transfers with Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller on Wednesday, when they will be in opposing dugouts for Michael Ballack's testimonial.
Schurrle will be participating in the game, in which Mourinho will manage a World XI against a side bossed by Voller.
And former Germany coach Voller is quoted as saying in Daily Star: "The main focus will be on Michael and quite rightly so.
"But we are working on a solution for Andre and it is inevitable I will speak to Mourinho afterwards."
Chelsea have been linked with Schurrle for several years but have never completed a deal for the 22-year-old.
The current problem is said to be De Bruyne's preference to join UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund instead of Leverkusen.
