Bayer Leverkusen striker Eren Derdiyok is set to undergo assessments on a thigh injury which it is feared could leave him on the sidelines for up to three weeks.
The Switzerland international sustained the problem in Sunday's victory over Kaiserslautern, which kept Leverkusen in third place in the Bundesliga.
Derdiyok is now set to undergo an MRI scan under the watchful eye of Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfarth, who works for rivals Bayern Munich.
"I injured my thigh in the match against Kaiserslautern, I got substituted during the fixture," Derdiyok told Express.
"I am now going to consult a doctor to identify the full length of my absence. It's an MRI scan that I am going to have."
A longer absence for Derdiyok would limit the selection options of Leverkusen manager Jupp Heynckes, who has already been without Germany international Stefan Kiessling since September.
Fellow Germany international striker Patrick Helmes has only recently returned to first-team training and would be Leverkusen's only available established striker.
