Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are expected to wrap up the capture of AZ Alkmaar defender Kew Jaliens in the next few days.
The talented right back is currently on international duty with Holland at the World Cup finals, but is expected to clarify his club situation while in Germany.
Bayer have been actively seeking a replacement for Jens Nowotny and it would appear as if they have settled on Jaliens.
Jaliens is contracted to AZ until 2011, but it is believed that the offer on the table from Bayer is too good to resist.
AZ coach Louis van Gaal has Gretar Steinsson as an option at right back, while he is also set to bring David Mendes da Silva to the club from NAC Breda this summer.
The sale of Jaliens will provide AZ with a substantial windfall and it is expected that the club will now snub any offers for Tim de Cler, with Feyenoord tipped to make a move for him before the new season starts.
Feyenoord are also being credited with an interest in AZ midfielder Barry Opdam, but it is believed that they have been scared off by his transfer fee.
A goalkeeper is also thought to be on AZ's wish list, with former Ajax man Joe Didulica a reported target.
