Bayer Leverkusen youngster Jan Callsen-Bracker has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Bayer bosses revealed the deal on Thursday after the defender accepted a contract extension through until June 2007.
"We are delighted that Jan-Ingwer has decided to stay with us despite several offers from elsewhere," said Bayer coach Michael Skibbe.
The 21-year-old only managed one Bundesliga appearance for Bayer last term, but with German international Jens Nowotny set to leave the club this summer Callsen-Bracker looks certain to feature more strongly in the club's plans for 2006/07.
"He has proven his ability in the regional league and will now get his chance," Skibbe added.
