Balaban back in form

Skysports.com can reveal a number of clubs are keeping tabs on Bosko Balaban.

Skysports.com can reveal a number of clubs are keeping tabs on Club Brugge striker Bosko Balaban.

The Croatian international is rebuilding his career at Brugge after an unhappy spell at Aston Villa.

Balaban, who joined Brugge last January, is beginning to recapture the form that persuaded Aston Villa to pay £6 million to Dynamo Zagreb for his services in 2001.

The 25-year-old has started the Belgian season in blistering form with seven goals in seven games including a four-goal salvo against FC Brussels last weekend and his performances have not gone unnoticed around Europe.

A number of French clubs including Lens and Paris Saint Germain as well as some German sides are thought to be interested in Balaban.

Balaban's agent Frank Trimboli of Base Soccer revealed that there has been interest in the player, but that he is happy to stay at Brugge.

"Bosko is very happy at Club Brugge as they gave him the opportunity to prove himself again," Trimboli told skysports.com.

"They supported him during somewhat difficult times and he just wants to help them.

"He is committed to Club Brugge, but like all top players he wants to play at the highest level.

"No-one has contacted me about Bosko, but I know there has been interest in him as he is doing very well."
