LUCIO AND SCOLARI AT LOGGERHEADS

BAYER LEVERKUSEN defender Lucio is entangled in a club versus country dilemma after Brazilian coach Scolari insisted he play against Panama on Thursday.

Scolari apparently ordered the 23-year-old to take part in the game or face the prospect of never playing for the four-time World Cup winners again.

Lucio has maintained that he does not want to miss the crucial Champions League qualifier against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, in particular for a friendly against Panama.

The Samba star is aware that dropping out could harm his international career long-term but he has vowed to be available for what general manager Reiner Calmund describes as 'the most important game of the year'.

The talented defender has ignored the words of the Brazil supremo, who many believe will soon be sacked from his position, and jetted off to Belgrade on Tuesday with his Bayer team-mates.
