Champions League: Bayern star Thiago looking to avoid Arsenal shock

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago insists there is still a lot of work to be done to get past Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Barcelona man firmly believes that the last-16 tie has not already been decided despite the fact Bayern hold a 2-0 lead going into the second leg at the Allianz Arena.

"This Champions League round against Arsenal is not decided, it is true that we have an advantage but this Arsenal team is very dangerous," he said.

"Last season Arsenal won in Munich and that is a warning for us, but this squad is focused on the match as we know it won't be easy.

"We know we are developing a big season, but you can't have that sort of confidence in Europe. To let the two-goal advantage from London go would be a disaster - but we are not thinking about that situation.

"Pep [Guardiola, coach] has demanded that we forget the first match and go out and get a goal and win from the first moment.

"We know Arsenal will attack but that could be positive for us."

Arjen Robben believes Arsenal's win at Bayern last season is a welcome reminder as they are now prepared for the Gunners.

"It's a good thing that it has happened, now we are prepared. If Arsenal has a good day, they can be annoying, we need to play at the top and work hard," said the Dutch winger.
