Claudio Pizarro has yet to make up his mind about whether to stay at Werder Bremen but has been told to come to a decision quickly.
The Peruvian striker is under contract with Bremen until 2013 but he has activated a clause in his deal that would allow him to leave a year early on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich were thought to be interested in re-signing their former player this summer and Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs says he must stop prevaricating and decide what he wants to do.
"I believe him when he says he has not yet made up his mind, but he has got to reach a decision now," Allofs told reporters in Germany.
"We are not playing in the Europa League so he must be able to make up his mind in the very near future.
"It should not drag on for three or four weeks."
