Rummenigge wants clubs off making bid

Bayern Munich's Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has moved quickly to warn any clubs off making moves for any of their World Cup stars. Germany have been hugely impressive so far in South Africa, and their trio of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller have played huge parts in their success so far. But Rummenigge has been quick to tell any suitors that they would be wasting their time even getting in touch. "Clubs looking to discuss transfers of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm or Thomas Muller can simply forget about phoning us," Bayern director Rummenigge told Sportinformationsdienst. "The same goes for those keen on Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez. "I did tell everybody right after the UEFA Champions League final that we are not intent to part with anyone, plus also not with Franck Ribery. "There is no way. I think we can be extremely content with the World Cup. Miro (Miroslav Klose) has had a marvellous comeback after a difficult campaign. "Key players (of Germany) like Schweinsteiger and Lahm are from Bayern Munich. And even Thomas Muller makes quite a splash. "If you count Toni Kroos in, who returns to our club from a loan spell, we have eight Germany internationals playing at the World Cup. "This has not been the case since 1974, we are delighted and look forward to the future." Rummenigge did confirm that Andreas Ottl, Jose Ernesto Sosa and Edson Braafheid would be allowed to leave the club. "In principle we are ready to part company with Andreas Ottl, Jose Ernesto Sosa and Edson Braafheid," he said. "It would be extremely difficult for them to break through and get a first-team job at our club." Midfielder Ottl has just returned from a six-month loan at FC Nurnberg. Sosa spent time with Estudiantes whilst Braafheid finished last season on loan at Celtic.
