Jones in hot water

Jermaine Jones is to appear before the DFB disciplinary committee

Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jermaine Jones is to appear before the DFB disciplinary committee after apparently stamping on Bayern Munich defender Valerien Ismael.

Although the incident was missed by referee Knut Kircher during Bayern's 1-0 win at the Commerzbank Arena on Tuesday, television pictures appeared to show Jones deliberately treading on the Frenchman's arm.

"After watching the pictures, Jones is under suspicion of deliberately stamping on the left arm of Bayern player Valerian Ismael whilst he was lying on the ground," committee chairman Horst Hilpert informed the Eagles on Wednesday.

Both Jones and Ismael have been asked to send written accounts of the incident. If found guilty Jones is likely to face suspension as Frankfurt continue their battle to establish themselves in the top flight.
