Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro has withdrawn from Peru's squad due to a back injury.
Pizarro missed last weekend's Bundesliga clash with Werder Bremen after trapping a nerve in his lower back during a training session.
The injury will now prevent him returning to South America for Peru's upcoming World Cup dates with Bolivia and Paraguay.
Peru coach Paulo Autuori has now called up Pizarro's Bayern team-mate Paolo Guerrero.
The 20-year-old, who has yet to win an international cap, has been a prolific goalscorer for the club's amateur team in the regional Third Division over the past two seasons.
