Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro is reported to have extended his contract at the Olympiastadion.

The 25-year-old Peruvian star had been rumoured to be looking to leave Bayern after a season that has seen him spend a lot of time on the bench after coach Ottmar Hitzfeld made him share the second striker's role alongside Roy Makaay with Roque Santa Cruz.

Schalke had been linked with the Peruvian international, but it now appears he will be staying with Bayern

Highly-regarded German magazine Kicker claims that Pizarro has agreed an extension to his current contract keeping him in Munich until 2007.

Pizarro, who joined Bayern from Werder Bremen for ‚é¼8 million in 2001, has netted 11 times this season for the dethroned Bundesliga champions.
