Bayern urged to sign Rosicky

Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has urged the club to join the race for in-demand Czech international midfielder Tomas Rosicky, who seems set to leave cash-strapped Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

The 23-year-old playmaker had recently stressed that he will finish the season with Dortmund, but would then look for a new club with big-spending Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus and Barcelona all reportedly interested in him.

Back in 2000 the Bavarians had been keen to lure the then Sparta Prague youngster to Munich, but were beaten to his signature by Borussia Dortmund's ‚é¼12 million offer.

With Rosicky likely to be made available in the summer, Beckenbauer feels the club should make sure they do not miss out once again.

"I can well imagine Rosicky starring for Bayern in the long-run. We had been keen on him once, but than pulled out of the transfer poker," Beckenbauer wrote in his column for German daily Bild.

According to Beckenbauer, Bayern could also be set to bid for two other Dortmund stars.

"Besides Rosicky, [Brazilian duo] Dede and Ewerthon would also fit in Bayern's squad," claimed the Kaiser.
