BUNDESLIGA side Bayer Leverkusen are set to sign Brazilian youngster Fabio Rochemback from Inter Porto Alegre.
The 19-year-old is regarded as one of his country's top prospects and has been compared to former Brazilian captain Dunga.
Leverkusen face competition from several top clubs around Europe who are reported to be interested in the midfielder, with Bayern Munich said to have already offered a contract to the player.
Leverkusen, however, have a good relationship with Inter Porto Alegre as they bought Lucio to Germany for £6 million when other clubs, such as Bayern, were prepared to pay much more for him.
"Bayern were too late for the Lucio transfer and they could also be too late for the next one," said Leverkusen coach Berti Vogts.
Meanwhile, Cologne are interested in Leverkusen midfielder Pascal Ojigwe, although he still has over three years left on his contract.
"The fact is that we are interested in Pascal Ojigwe," said manager Hannes Linssen. "The other fact is that he has a contract with Leverkusen for another three-and-a-half years."
