Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic has confirmed the intention to strengthen the club's squad in the January transfer window.
Thomas Schneider's side currently sit 10th in the Bundesliga after collecting 19 points from 15 games and are 12 points adrift of the UEFA Champions League places.
Bobic is aware of the need to add numbers to the Stuttgart squad and has an open mind regarding the type of reinforcements which are required.
"We are trying to work out this or that for the upcoming transfer phase," he told Esslinger Zeitung.
"We are not going to reveal any details just yet, but it's obvious to us we are in need in terms of players in some key roles.
"I will not rule out buying young talents and I will also not rule out buying established players."
