Labbadia offers sympathy to Wolfsburg striker Helmes

Stuttgart have dismissed reports that Cacau could join Wolfsburg following the injury to fellow Germany international Patrick Helmes. Wolfsburg striker Helmes is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament injury and Cacau had been mooted as a possible replacement. Cacau was unhappy at his lack of regular playing time at Stuttgart last season and it cost him a place in Germany's squad for Euro 2012. He has 12 months remaining on his current deal at Stuttgart, but coach Bruno Labbadia is not planning to let the 31-year-old go. Labbadia told kicker-Sportmagazin: "I feel very sorry for Patrick Helmes. He is a quality striker and a great guy. "This injury is a real pity for him, but I do not consider this (a departure of Cacau). Not even for one per cent. Cacau is a VfB Stuttgart player."
