Spartak Moscow have completed the signing of Martin Stranzl from Stuttgart.
The Austrian defender has agreed a four-year contract with Spartak, the Russian side confirmed, although no transfer details were disclosed. The media has speculated that the fee could be around é¼3 million (£2.1 million).
The 25-year-old is the second major signing for the club in the Russian off-season, following the capture of Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from Arsenal in January.
"Spartak have an extremely strong team and have built a great environment," Stranzl told the Austrian press.
The Russian league season kicks off on Friday, and Spartak will be hoping to go one better than their second place finish last year.
