Uefa Cup starters Stuttgart have decided to loan talented midfielder Tobias Rathgeb to Swiss outfit St Gallen,

The Bundesliga side have started a co-operation programme with the side that once knocked Chelsea out of Europe.

The 22-year-old, who has regularly starred for Stuttgart's Third Division youth team, but penned a professional contract with the Swabians, has yet to break into Matthias Sammer's first-team squad and the coach has now decided that the midfielder should gain match experience at a higher level.

A similar deal was set up for Stuttgart's Emanuel Centurion, but the 21-year-old Argentine midfielder vetoed such a move and expressed his confidence that he will break into Sammer's team this term.
