Werder Bremen defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos claims to have snubbed the chance to move clubs.

The 24-year-old Greece international has announced he has been the subject of 'several enquiries' from clubs around Europe but he remains committed at Weserstadion.

Papastathopoulos only joined Bremen on a permanent four-year contract in the summer after an initial season on loan from Serie A club Genoa.

And he is in no rush to leave, as he told Kicker: "Werder Bremen has the quality to play in Europe on a regular level.

"Of course, I have received several enquiries from clubs around Europe. I decided totally in favour of Werder Bremen, simply because the club has shown me I am a full part of the future."
