Werder Bremen progressed to the next round of the Uefa Cup despite losing 3-1 to Ajax.
The German side beat Ajax 3-0 at home last week and were thankful for their advantage after being given a huge scare at Amsterdam ArenA.
Ajax needed to score early and a goal arrived after just four minutes as Leonardo drove the ball home from a tight angle on the right.
Disaster struck for the Dutch side as Hugo Almeida stroked home Tim Borowski's cross after 14 minutes to equalise for Werder and leave them needing five to win.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar latched onto Ryan Babel's pass on the hour mark to score his ninth goal in Europe this season and give Ajax hope.
Babel then got in on the act after 74 minutes with a neat finish, but Werder withstood Ajax's late pressure to cling on for a 4-3 aggregate win.
They will face Celta Vigo in the last 16.
