Bundesliga leaders Werder Bremen are reportedly set to sign Ajax striker Markus Rosenberg.
Just a day after learning that their Croatian international Ivan Klasnic will be sidelined for around two months with a kidney problem, Bild reports that Werder are looking to bring Rosenberg to the Weserstadion.
The newspaper claims that Rosenberg's agent Martin Dahlin has been involved in talks with Bremen bosses this week and that the 24-year-old Swedish international is likely to cost Werder around é¼4million.
Meanwhile, Bremen sport director Klaus Allofs has revealed that the club are to offer Klasnic a contract extension.
His current deal expires at the end of the season, but Allofs expressed his belief that a new deal would give the player security as he recovers from his kidney operation.
