Tim Borowski expects Miroslav Klose to leave Werder Bremen at the end of the season.
Several of Europe's top clubs have reportedly placed the World Cup Golden Boot winner at the top of their summer shopping lists, and Borowski acknowledges that it will be hard to keep him at the Weserstadion.
"From what I've heard in the last few weeks, I think it is likely he will be leaving us," Borowski told Kicker.
The German international is, however, confident that Bremen would bounce back from Klose's exit and invest the transfer money wisely.
"Klaus Allofs and Thomas Schaaf are absolute football experts. They have proven again and again that they can compensate for the loss of important players and they will do so again," he explained.
Alemannia Aachen's Jan Schlaudraff has been targeted by Bayern Munich but Borowski believes he would benefit more from a move to Werder and would be a good replacement for Klose.
"If he's clever and keeps his eyes open, then he'll realise that he has no other choice than to come to Werder," Borowski commented.
