Werder Bremen have made goalkeeper Christian Vander's loan move permanent.
The custodian joined the Bundesliga runners-up at the start of last season on a one-year loan deal from VfL Bochum following an injury to Tim Wiese.
He made a decent impression and the club's paymasters have rewarded him with a two-year contract.
"Christian Vander has absolutely met the challenges we set him," commented Werder sport director Klaus Allofs.
"He has shown right from the outset that he is a genuine alternative.
"During his Bundesliga appearance in Frankfurt he proved the kind of quality he possesses in front of a big crowd."
