Werder Bremen have signed Bochum reserve goalkeeper Christian Vander.
24-year-old Vander has agreed to a loan move to the Weserstadion until the end of the new campaign after failing to dislodge veteran Rijn van Duijnhoven last season.
Van Duijnhoven's form consigned Vander to just seven league appearances in three years at Bochum.
Bremen, who sit top of Die Bundesliga after the opening day, have been urgently looking for cover for their current number one Andreas Reinke, after new signing Tim Wiese damaged cruciate ligaments in the summer.
Vander will now take his place on the bench for Bremen in Sunday's trip to Mainz.
