Davala faces fine

Turkish international Umit Davala is set to face a fine by Bundesliga leaders Werder Bremen after being red-carded in Saturday's 1-0 away win over struggling Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 30-year-old and Frankfurt's Greek striker Ioannis Amanatidis were both sent off for their violent clash and Klaus Allofs, Bremen's director of sport, felt ashamed by the lack of self discipline from the former Galatasaray and Internazionale ace.

‚Ç£Something like this shouldn't happen to such an internationally experienced player, it's unworthy," fumed Allofs whose team remain seven points ahead of title rivals Bayern Munich six weeks before the end of the campaign.

"Being among the fairest teams of the league has so far helped us to stay at the top.‚Ç¥

The German FA will announce their verdict on the right back this week, but Davala seems set to face a rather harsh punishment after he had already been sent off in Bremen's DFB Cup win over Second Division side Greuther Furth earlier this season.
