Lukas Podolski: Germany striker has netted 10 of Cologne's last 14 goals

Cologne striker Lukas Podolski insists he does not want to play for any other Bundesliga side.

But the Germany international has refused to rule out leaving the club for a switch abroad as speculation mounts about his future.

Cologne said they want to offer a new contract to Podolski, who has netted 14 goals this season, during the upcoming winter break.

However, the 26-year-old admitted he wants to test himself in the Champions League.

Schalke have registered their interest but the player has effectively ruled out moving to one of tenth-placed Cologne's rivals.

Inquiries

"I find it very difficult to imagine changing to another club in the Bundesliga," he told German magazine Sport Bild.

"If I leave Cologne joining a foreign club appeals to me.

"When I look at the inquiries already received I am looking to see if the club plays international or Champions League football."

Podolski, who is under contract until 2013, started his career with the Rhineland club and returned in 2009 after a disappointing three-year spell with Bayern Munich.
