Michel Bastos insists he has never asked to leave Lyon and is prepared to remain with the French outfit.
The Brazilian midfielder has generated plenty of transfer gossip this summer, with Italian giants Juventus reported to be keen on bringing him on board.
Various reports have suggested that Bastos is open to such a move, following a five-year stint in France with Lille and Lyon.
No deal has been done, though, and the 28-year-old remains at Stade Gerland for now.
Lyon supporters have not responded well to the ongoing rumours and aired their displeasure during a recent friendly.
Bastos understands the fans' frustration, but is adamant that he has never pushed for a move.
"I never stated that I wanted to join Juve," he told L'Equipe.
"The fans are upset and I can understand that, but I have never said anything to the press.
"Now I am just working hard for the team. If the fans can support me again, that will be great.
"I still feel as though I have a lot to prove, whether that is at Lyon or somewhere else."
