Striker snubs Spurs for Bundesliga club

Jefferson Farfan has completed his transfer from PSV Eindhoven to Schalke for a reported fee of €10million (£7.9million). The Bundesliga club revealed that the Peru international will put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Veltins Arena. Reports suggest that the striker turned down offers from Fiorentina and Tottenham Hotspur in favour of singing for Schalke. Schalke general manager Andreas Muller said: "He is a very solid player who can only help but take the club forward." New Royal Blues coach Fred Rutten has been keen to bolster his frontline, and Farfan will team up with forward Kevin Kuranyi as the club looks to mount a title charge next season.
