Schalke fume at Fandel

Schalke are fuming at referee Herbert Fandel's decision not to send off Oliver Kahn.

Bundesliga leaders Schalke are fuming at referee Herbert Fandel's decision not to send off Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn on Saturday.

The Royal Blues saw their lead at the top of the table cut following their 2-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena, but the result could have been different had Kahn seen red after striking out of Soren Larsen in the 68th minute.

"Every other goalkeeper would have been sent off for that," Schalke coach Mirko Slomka told the DSF television channel.

"But Bayern have had this bonus for many years - and Kahn in particular!"

Schalke team manager Andreas Muller echoed his trainer's word, saying: "It's incredible! Lincoln got a five-match ban for doing something like that.

"Mr. Fandel wasn't brave enough to send Kahn off. Bayern have simply got a bonus in this respect."
