Germany coach Joachim Low has included uncapped Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez in his squad to face Switzerland next week.

The 21-year-old has been rewarded for an impressive season in which he has bagged 10 Bundesliga goals for the Swabians.

"Mario has earned his call-up after playing a strong season," Low commented.

"We have watched him several times and he has almost always fulfilled our expectations.

"He is a dangerous and dynamic striker who will now get the chance to prove his ability at international level."

Low has also recalled Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi who was dropped from Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup squad last summer.

"Kevin showed improved form before Christmas and has made a good start in the Bundesliga this year," Low said.
