Schalke joined Werder Bremen at the top of Die Bundesliga, while Bayern Munich edged a thrilling game at Bayer Leverkusen.

Following leaders Bremen's shock home loss to Borussia Dortmund on Friday, Schalke had the chance to move level on points at the summit.

Misimovic scored two minutes into the second half, but goals from Dick van Burik (58) and substitute Andreas Neuendorf (80) ensured a draw.

Wolfsburg were held 0-0 at home by Energie Cottbus in the day's other game.
