Schalke's unsettled midfielder Simon Cziommer is set to withstand an offer from Dutch giants Feyenoord in order to continue his career with the Royal Blues.

Feyenoord had been hoping to take Cziommer back to Holland but the player is ready to stay in Die Bundesliga.

‚Ç£I have had a good talk with the coach [Ralf Rangnick] and I am ready to accept the competition here," said Cziommer.

"It will certainly be tough but I will get my fair share of match practice."

Cziommer joined Schalke in 2003 from Twente Enschede and, after failing to settle under then-coach Jupp Heynckes, he found himself loaned back to Twente.

But despite impressing in Holland last season, Twente failed to raise the cash in order to make his stay permanent.

Cziommer is still waiting to build on his two Bundesliga appearances he has made for Schalke so far and Feyenoord were closely following his misfortunes, hoping to lure him to the De Kuip, but the midfielder's recent comments suggest that he is determined to fulfil his contract until 2006.
