German international forward Thomas Brdaric has expressed delight at sealing a summer move away from Wolfsburg.

The 30-year-old, capped four times by his country, fell out with fans, team-mates and club officials in a turbulent year at the Volkswagon Arena and cannot now wait to rejoin Hannover.

The two clubs have agreed a ‚é¼1.8 million fee for the former Bayer Leverkusen player, who said: "A lot of things happened in the past month and talking about them would take hours, but I am very happy to go back to Hannover.

"I am keen to play at the World Cup and, as Wolfsburg were not willing to offer me regular first-team football, I had to look elsewhere.

"The clubs have reached an agreement and although I haven't signed anything yet, the fans do not need to be afraid. I will sign the deal when I return from the national team - at the moment I want to focus on the Fifa Confederations Cup."

Wolfsburg have turned their attention to ‚é¼4 million-rated Schalke youngster Mike Hanke, who is set to make his full international debut when Germany meet Russia in Wednesday's friendly.
