Bayern Munich have signed Brazil midfielder Douglas Costa from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 24-year-old, who admitted earlier this year that he would be interested in a move to Chelsea, joins the Bundesliga champions on a five-year contract for a fee of around £21m.
A statement on Shakhtar's official website read: "Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich have agreed all the necessary formalities regarding Douglas Costa’s move to the German club.
"The transfer fee for the Brazilian midfielder is 30 million euros.
“Shakhtar thanks Douglas for the time spent in the team and wishes him every success with the new club.”
Bayern executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said: "We are very pleased we were able to sign Douglas Costa.
"His five-year contract to 2020 also shows we are planning for the future. We hope he gets accustomed to life in Munich quickly and will improve the team."
Costa, part of the Brazil side that made a disappointing quarter-final exit at the Copa America, can play on either flank and will link up with his new team-mates on July 11.
