Bayern Munich added six goals to the eight they scored last weekend to move 11 points clear of Wolfsburg at the top of the Bundesliga thanks to a 6-0 win at Paderborn.

Robert Lewandowski scored their first two before Arjen Robben put the result beyond doubt from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute after Florian Hartherz was shown a red card.

Franck Ribery and Mitchell Weiser also got in on the act before Robben rounded things off as Bayern maintained their march towards a third straight Bundesliga title.

Schalke brought an end to Werder Bremen's five-game winning streak in the league but were denied all three points late on in a 1-1 draw.

Max Meyer's goal put Roberto Di Matteo's men in front, but Sebastian Prodl levelled in stoppage time to deny Schalke a place in the top three.

Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz scored a dramatic late equaliser to earn his side a 2-2 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen on his return to the side after injury.

Josip Drmic gave Leverkusen an early lead which was cancelled out by Caiuby's strike on the hour mark.

Leverkusen thought they had snatched victory when Stefan Reinartz scored five minutes from time, but Hitz went up for a late corner as Augsburg tried to find an equaliser and he delivered to bring a dramatic end to the game.

Freiburg missed an opportunity to move out of the bottom three as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim.

Immanuel Hohn's opener for the home side was cancelled out by Kevin Volland, while Freiburg also ended the game with 10 men when Marc Torrejon picked up a straight red card in stoppage-time.

Mainz halted their slide toward the relegation zone with Martin Schmidt celebrating a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in his first game in charge of the club.

Schmidt, who took over from the sacked Kasper Hjulmand earlier this week, saw his side fall behind to a Stefan Aigner goal but Christian Clemens brought the hosts level.

Johannes Geis and Yunus Malli the scored the goals early in the second half which earned Mainz a much-needed win while Frankfurt ended the game with 10 men after Carlos Zambrano saw red.

In Saturday's late kick-off, Cologne and Hannover shared the spoils in an entertaining 1-1 encounter.

An own goal from Timo Horn gifted the visitors an early lead but Anthony Ujah earned Cologne a point, while Hannover lost Joao Pereira to a late red card.
